A couple of weekends ago I took pictures for the National Zoo at their Guppy Gala event. I took over 400 photos and only 3 of them were of animals. The rest were people pictures. For some reason I didn't feel self conscious taking photos since I was an official photographer for the event.

Here is another shot from the Scales and Tales photo shoot. I have about 4-5 more I want to post once I get time to do the post processing. I took this shot with a f2.8 70-200mm zoom lens I borrowed from one of the other photographers. I was very pleased with the results this lens provided. The 2.8 aperture really shortened the depth of field and I think it added some drama to this shot. In my mind I picture an animal (or myself) in the last moments of life, your vision is failing and the last thing you see is this vulture giving you the eye.
