495 Sunrise (060-366)

Happy Leap Day! I grabbed this shot on my drive into work today. All of my practice during the mydrive project helped me to get this shot driving while not looking.

Art of Fire (059-366)

We arrived home from California via a red eye at 6:00 AM and I ended up sleeping most of the day. I was able to venture out in the afternoon and I quickly grabbed this shot of the Art of Fire barn while driving home.

Cali Surise (058-366)

Grandma's House (057-366)

A house full of curios and kept at a constant 85 degree temperature.

Yvonne's Flowers (056-366)

Los Al (055-366)

We stayed at a hotel near the Los Alamitos horse track and we decided to watch a couple of the races after dinner since Michele and Emma have never been to a race. I used to come to this track on a regular basis to watch my uncle's horse race.

Baby Gala (054-366)

When we arrived in California we stopped at Vons to grab some supplies for the hotel. They had Baby Gala apples.

Power Pole (053-366)

Buric's Beef (052-366)

Buric's Beef

I took a little side trip on my way home from work tonight to swing by a local cattle farm called Buric's Beef. I was able to get several good shots of the cows near the side of the road.

Bethesda (051-366)

Bethesda Movie theater

This past weekend I had a difficult time finding something to photograph. Today I felt like I was in a similar non-creative rut. This is one of the easy subjects to photograph in Bethesda. I decided to go ahead and photograph this landmark and try to get a creative spark going with some post processing. I used some negative clarity in Lightroom on this image to give it a fuzzy glow look in addition to the sepia toning.

Light Bulb (050-366)

We went to Corner Bakery this morning and I noticed that the light bulbs they use above the table use a mini-florescent fixture inside a clear light bulb. They also seemed to be daylight balanced. These are the nicest florescent bulbs I have seen. I'm sure these bulbs were not cheap.

Winter BBQ (049-366)

Winter Steak

Empty Window (048-366)

Paint (047-366)

Paint

I had to return to the art table tonight to get my shot for the day. Here is a photo of some of the left over paint from a recent art project my daughter completed.

Wire Hand (046-366)

Wire Hand

I didn't have much luck with photos earlier today. So when I got home I started photographing objects that are on the art table. I found a lot of good subjects for future photos when I'm not able to photograph anything during the day.

Carrot Car (045-366)

My daughter needed a photo of her Foundations of Tech class project. She built her styrofoam car in the class and took it home for detailing. The class is planning on racing them this Friday. She may not have the fastest car, but probably the best looking.

I shot this on a light box with an off camera flash from above.

Nose Grind (044-366)

Nose Grind

While walking today I was able to stop and get some photos of a couple of high school students grinding away in front of the grocery store. I played with the processing of these photos to give them a grunge flavor.

I posted additional photos at flickr.

Clouds (043-366)

We had great skies today after the snow and wind from yesterday. I shot the skies today with my camera and my iPhone. I liked how the iphone processed this image to be creamy and saturated.

Farm in Snow (042-366)

Farm in Snow

I woke up this morning to a coating of snow on the ground. So I drove around looking for a photo to post for today. By noon all of the snow was gone. We then got hit with another dusting to cover everything again. This is the kind of snow I like, very pretty and no shoveling.

Tree Trunk (041-366)

Tree Trunk

At lunch today I started walking the same path I have been going almost everyday. However, I stopped my self and went in the other direction. You need to change your direction every once in a while to get a different perspective.

Sunset at Farm (040-366)

I had a nice sunset on my drive home tonight.

Goose (039-366)

It was snowing on my way home from work tonight. While stopped at a light I noticed this goose walking along the side of the road.

Red Panda (038-366)

Taken at the National Zoo before my photoclub meeting.

Semper Fidelis (037-366)

Marines

Taken outside of the Ranger Surplus store in Bethesda. Notice the left over lipstick mark on the cheek. The girls just love the Marines.

Snowy Fields (036-366)

This morning I went to my favorite bend in the road to photograph the fields in the snow.

This Old House (035-366)

I have wanted to photograph this building for sometime. I decided to stop by here this morning before they eventually tear it down.

Night Tree (034-366)

Night Tree

When I arrived at work today it was non-stop. I was able to quickly grab some lunch from across the street in-between meetings, so I never had a chance to grab some photos.

When I got home I didn't have any ideas, so I went outside to try my hand and some astro-photography. I got some interesting shots and generated some ideas on what I want to try for next time. Just before I decided to pack it in I decided to grab some shots of one of our backyard trees. I liked how this one came out.

2nd (033-366)

I was playing with a new photo filter called Loko on my iPhone today.

Happy Construction (032-366)

Happy Construction

Construction has picked up at several locations in downtown Bethesda, which is a good economic sign. While I was walking past this building I took a shot of the guys doing some welding about 6 floors up. When I got home I noticed that one of the workers must have noticed me taking photos and smiled for me.
