New Server
If you are seeing this entry, that means the manderson.com website has been sucessfully moved over to the new server hardware.
I recently purchased some new server hardware for my hosting business and I'm testing it out with some real production traffic before I move over paying clients.
This is one reason why there hasn't been any posts recently. I have been trying to keep things stable between the various servers until everything is migrated. If you notice any problems, please leave me a comment below.
Next step is an upgrade to the latest and greatest version of MovableType.

Emma at HB Pier

Another shot from the pier. I took about 30 pictures at this location and many of them came out rather nice. But nothing you or I have not already scene when someone takes pictures at a pier. So I will probably not post them here.

Huntington Beach Pier

A little Photoshop stylization on this one, basically played with color temperature, exposure, saturation, tint, and contrast.

This is a wave fountain at Disney's California Adventure. I placed the camera on the lip of the fountain and it was was shot with a 4 second exposure.

Tile Bird

Just a note of caution, the bird is not really part of the tile mosaic. ;-)

Tile Otter

This is a small part of a very large tile mosaic at the entrance of Disney's California Adventure.

Swans

I was thinking this would make a good black and white picture as well. I may do some Photoshop post processing later as an experiment. What I really like is that the water is highly reflective but also looks very eerily dark.

Xmas Jack

Many years ago I went to Disneyland during Christmas. At that time the biggest change was an overhaul of Main Street in a Christmas theme. The rest of the park remained untouched.
This year I came back and was startled at the decorations and the attention to detail in decorating the entire park. The Haunted House conversion to a Nightmare Before Christmas was amazing.
The Disney Imaginers know that it is the little details that count. A perfect example is that on the California Soaring ride, they changed the end of the ride so that when you soar into Disneyland, your seeing the Christmas version of the park.

Blinking Lights

This is one of the many neighborhoods in California that love to decorate for Christmas. It may be the lack of snow and typical winter weather that forces SoCal people to do it up big.
I experimented with various exposures from 1 second to 8 seconds. This shot was 4 seconds and is the one I like the best.

Red Berries

I'm back from my California trip and have a stack of new photos to post. This one is another picture taken on Christmas Eve from the backyard.
