Projects
I have several ongoing long-term projects that I have been working on. These long-term projects help to focus my photographic energies and also inspire new ideas that can be used in all of my photographic endeavors.
Civil War Infrared
I'm currently working on a project to take Infrared photos at various Civil War locations. I like the technique and feel of Infrared combined with the historical subject of the Civil War. I have been working on this project since the Fall of 2007. My current plans are to produce either a folio or book of this work. A selection of prints from this project are currently available for sale via the Civil War gallery on my portfolio.
17 Photos
The number 17 is my own personal favorite number. For as long as I can remember it has always been my choice when needing to pick numbers. It also has some personal significance in my life as well. My wife was born on the 17th and we were married on the 17th. For most people the number 7 is their lucky or favorite number.
But did you know that 17 is the 7th prime number. 17 is also the sum of the first four primes. Shakespeare wrote 17 comedies (in the 17th century). Hamlet reigned for 17 years. Beethoven wrote 17 string quartets. The first of Händel's Water Music took place on July 17, 1717. I could go on about my love of the number 17.
For several years I have been taking photos of 17 in its many forms. I currently don't have any plans for this project, but I have reserved www.17photos.com just in case.
30Seasons.com
My 30seasons project is to document in pictures and words my life in photography. Additional details about this blog can be found on the 30Seasons about page.
My Drive
The manderson.com domain has been around for over 10 years and during that time it has been used for many different projects. For several years it served as the home for a photoblog I started in July 2004. When I decided to turn this domain into a more professional home for my photography I stopped working on the photoblog. I soon discovered I missed posting the occasional grab shot or found photo. So I revived the photoblog to a new home and with a new purpose. The My Drive photoblog will be used to store the images I find along the way while I'm driving.
