About
Mark Anderson
My father introduced me to photography at a young age when he let me shoot with his Rollei twin lens reflex camera. Soon after I had my own 35mm SLR and was shooting for my school's newspaper and yearbook. I have now been a hobbyist photographer for over 30 years. I was never caught up in the allure of the darkroom and always preferred the end result rather than the development process. However, the digital photography era has given me the ease of experimentation that I felt I never had in the darkroom.I'm originally a native of Southern California and moved to Maryland over ten years ago. I have always been interested in history and after moving to Maryland, the amount of local Civil War history has inspired me to work on a project concerning the Civil War battlefields with a Infrared converted digital camera. I have found that working on photographic projects are very gratifying and produces stronger work. I'm typically always working on 2-3 different long term photographic projects.
When I'm not working on one of my photographic projects I work in information technology and web development for an association management software company. I'm also a husband and a father of a teenage daughter.
I'm also a member of the National Zoo FONZ Photoclub.
